Tim Costello was a typical free wheeling soul of the ‘80s. His huge stature was adorned with a straggly beard and shoulder length hair. He looked rather scary. Once upon a time when a mechanical moose in a shopping center was failing, his brother called on Tim for help. Now this was a huge moose. It was big enough for Tim to fit inside and work on the mechanical malfunction. Tim did his best laboring in this stuffy space to get the moose talking again. Apparently, the heat was more than he could bear, so he opened up the moose by removing its head which left dozens of kids and their mothers screaming away at the sight of this huge hairy beast.
Tim was a gentle soul. When he spoke his voice was pleasantly soft and one immediately knew he was an educated man. He was a brilliant innovator and problem solver. He read technical manuals cover to cover and at least one book each day. In the early days of CTE he did any job from truck driver to on-site registration manager. He was a go-to guy. Any question asked of him was answered in a logical, positive manner, but he always ended his answer with "in theory".
Tim passed away at the age of 43 of a massive heart attack during a problem solving meeting in our conference room.
When our software solutions were becoming more cohesive, we searched for a name in order to create a brand. At the time, cloud technology was just becoming a household word, so we wanted a name implying the cloud. Several suggestions were made like Cumulus, Cirrus and the like. Then one of the staff blurted out "Intheorious!", because Tim would always say..."in theory". We remember Tim in our work day and to pay homage to him we decided to name our brand "Intheorious".
In theory...anything is possible.
