7 Virtues Lead to Higher Hotel Commissions

Written by CTE employees

1. Carefully look over the terms of your contract to eliminate penalties and attrition. Be certain that either a commission or booking fee is allowed. Have your professional housing bureau review the terms of your contract before you execute.

2. Make housing reservation sites available as early as possible, even before the registration site is opne. Exhibitors will want to book hotel space as soon as they commit to booth space, therefore let them do it.

3. Cross check conference registration against hotel reservation files to assure that all registrants have an opportunity to use the housing block and that those holding hotel rooms are contacted to make registrations.

4. Insist that your registration company has the facility to verify which hotel an attendee is using during the badge pickup process.

5. Obtain daily pickup reports from each hotel to check for hotel no-shows who are in attendance at the meeting.

6. If an attendee says they are staying at a hotel and aren't listed on the hotel audit, verify their reservation with the hotel.

7. Audit the post event hotel pickup reports and compare them to the housing bureau's reservation report and the onsite additional reservations claimed by your attendees.
